Below are a few sample itineraries of treks that we offer. Contact us to customize one of these hikes or treks or to design something completely different.

Kashgar and the Karakoram Highway Day Hiking Tour: Day hikes in and around the Kashgar oasis and along the KKH in the Chinese Pamirs

Day 1 - Shipton’s Arch hike.

Day 2 - Kashgar Sunday Bazaar and walks in Kashgar’s Old City quarter.

Day 3 - Drive to Opal, visit Mehmut Kashgari Tomb and hike on ridge behind. Walk through the Opal Monday Bazaar, a small local bazaar on the KKH. Drive on to Oy Tagh to the head of a mountain valley in the Pamirs located under the 6760 meter peak, Chakragil.

Day 4 - Hike through one of the few forested areas in the Pamir and on the glacier at Oy Tagh towards the head of the valley.

Day 5 - Drive to Tashkorgan. Time for free exploration of Tashkorgan in the afternoon.

Day 6 - Hike to Stone Fortress and along the Tashkorgan River.

Day 7 - Hike into countryside outside of Tashkorgan through Tajik farms.

Day 8 - Drive to Subash Pass (4050 meters) and day hike out ridge towards Muztagh Ata (7546 meters), return. Drive to Kara Kul and overnight in yurts.

Day 9 - Hike around Kara Kul and to a Kirghiz village to visit a Kirghiz family. Return drive to Kashgar. End.

Pamir Trek: 5 days trekking with Bactrian camels near Muztagh Ata, Kara Kul, and Kongur - experience Kirghiz and Tajik culture

Day 1 - Breakfast at Crown Inn, drive about 100km to Subash Pass and meet camels. Load camels and trek to an area southwest of Muztagh Ata, camp. Excellent views of Muztagh Ata and distant views of Kongur.

Day 2 - Trek to near Muztagh Ata Base Camp and then descend down to Subash Village, camp.

Day 3 - Trek in a northeasterly direction along the hills flanking Muztagh Ata and pass through Kirghiz villages to near Kara Kul, camping on the Kengshiver River.

Day 4 - Day trek towards Kongur Base Camp and return to camp on Kengshiver River.

Day 5 - Short day trek up the Kengshiver River, return to camp, break camp and trek to Kara Kul, meet vehicle, return to Kashgar, end services.

(Note: on our mulit-day treks, most gear is carried by Bactrian camels. You only carry what you need for the day)

K2 Trek: Trekking with camels to Chinese Base Camp on the north side of K2

Day 1 - Meet at Kashgar airport, transport to hotel.
Day 2 - Purchase last minute supplies, drive to Kargilik (Yecheng).
Day 3 - Drive to trail head at Ilik, meet camel drivers.
Day 4-8 - Trek to Chinese Base Camp (5 days trekking).
Day 9-12 - At Base Camp, resting or day hike to Italian BC.
Day 13-17 - Trek out to pick-up spot.
Day 18 - Drive to Kargilik (Yecheng), hotel.
Day 19 - Drive to Kashgar, hotel.
Day 20 - Sightseeing in Kashgar, transport to airport or end of services.

Taklimakan Desert Trek: 3-day trek itinerary with camels (September-October and March-April)

Day 1 : Drive from Kashgar to Karasu on the edge of the Taklimakan, meet and load camels, trek in desert to first camp.

2 : Trek in desert to camp 2.

3 : Trek to pickup spot, drive to Yarkand, explore. 4 : Return to Kashgar, end services.
